Caring for Your Skincare: What to Do if Your Deodorant Feels Firm

If you have ever opened your natural deodorant and found it firm or a little difficult to scoop, you are not alone. This can happen, especially in the cooler months. Because Earth Lab products are made without synthetic fillers, they respond naturally to changes in temperature.

Why It Happens

Oils and butters such as coconut oil and shea butter firm up in the cold. When the weather cools down, your deodorant can set more firmly than usual. Sometimes you might even notice tiny cracks on the surface of the paste. This is a normal response to temperature shifts and nothing to worry about.

How to Soften It

If your deodorant feels too hard, there are a few simple ways to make it soft and ready to use.

  • Scoop a small amount with the back of a fingernail or a clean spatula

  • Warm it between your fingertips until it softens into a creamy paste

  • Store your deodorant in a slightly warmer room if your house is very cold

Once it warms up, it will return to its smooth, spreadable texture and glide easily onto your skin.

A Natural Rhythm

The firmness of your deodorant is part of the seasonal rhythm of natural skincare. In winter it may feel firmer, while in summer it may feel softer. These gentle changes are a sign that your product is alive with pure oils and butters that shift with their environment.

A Gentle Closing 🌸

Hard or soft, your deodorant will always work the same way to keep you fresh. With a little warmth from your fingertips it will soften and melt beautifully into your skin, just as it was intended.
