Natural products are alive with oils and butters, which means they can be a little sensitive to heat. On a warm summer day you might open your jar and find that your skincare has softened or even melted. This is completely natural and nothing to worry about. Your product is still safe and nourishing.
But there is a difference between how deodorants and body butters behave once they melt, and it helps to know what to expect.
Deodorants: Easy to Reset
If your deodorant melts it is no problem at all. Simply place the tin in a cool shaded spot or pop it in the fridge for a short while. Once it sets again it will return to its normal consistency and work just as effectively as before. Deodorants are quite forgiving and bounce back beautifully after a little cooling down.
Body Butters: A Bit More Delicate
Body butters are carefully whipped to achieve their airy fluffy texture. When they melt that whipped structure disappears. Once they solidify again they can feel heavier and greasier on the skin. They are still completely safe and full of nourishing oils but the experience of applying them changes. Instead of a light whipped feel the butter will spread more like a rich balm.
This is why I recommend keeping body butters in a consistently cool place and out of direct sunlight, so you can enjoy that lovely whipped texture for as long as possible.
A Gentle Closing 🌸
Whether whipped, softened, or reset, your Earth Lab products remain filled with pure oils and butters made to care for your skin. A little mindful storage will keep them at their best, but even if they melt they are still full of goodness.
